If there is one thing the people of New Orleans know well, it’s their liquor. This cocktail has been a favorite amongst the locals since the 1940’s and after being nearly torn apart by Katrina, and carried on the backs of their football team, this drink is sure to be a hit for generations to come. Sometimes you have to stick with the classics.
Hurricane: New Orleans Style
1 oz White rum
1 oz Jamaican dark rum
1 oz Bacardi 151 rum
3 oz Orange Juice
3 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 oz grenadine
Crushed ice
Combine all ingredients and shake well. Pour into a hurricane glass and garnish with various fruit wedges.
