Super Bowl 50 Drinking Game

The Unofficial Official Super Bowl 50 Drinking Game

What would a Nationally televised major event be without its own drinking game. Super Bowl 50 is this Sunday and if you’re a Panthers fan or a Broncos fans, congrats, your team made it and I’m sure you’ll be 100% glued to the tube the entire time. For the rest of us sometimes it doesn’t hurt to have a little extra incentive to watch and have fun. I’m a huge fan of the sport so generally any good game keeps my interested. Then there’s the casual fan who just watches big games, and of course the people who don’t give a damn about football but just like “watch parties”. That’s when drinking game comes in handy, it makes things interesting so we put together our very own Official Unofficial Super Bowl 50 Drinking Game.

Pick your poison be it beer, hard liquor, wine, or even the easy stuff like cider and wine coolers. Just don’t go overboard.

Responsibly sip your drink when…

  • If Jim Nantz Starts the broadcast with “Hello, friends!”
  • CBS uses the Pylon Cam.
  • CBS shows B-roll of the Golden Gate bridge.
  • Ted Ginn drops a pass.
  • Luke Keuchly gets an INTERCEPTION
  • Von Miller records a SACK
  • Aquib Talib gets an INTERCEPTION
  • Josh Norman gets an INTERCEPTION
  • Peyton Manning throws a wobbly pass
  • A wide receiver throws his hands up whining for a pass interference call

Sip your drink twice if…

  • Cam Newton Runs for a Touchdown
  • Cam Newton Dabs
  • Phil Simms or Jim Nantz say “HGH.”
  • Brock Osweiler is described as being “the future” of the Broncos.
  • The cameras cut to Steph Curry in the crowd.
  • The cameras cut to Eli Manning in the crowd.
  • You notice lip syncing during the halftime show.
  • Anytime the Ohio State Buckeyes are mentioned (Most represented college in the Super Bowl)
  • If the Camera shows Jared Allen OR Charles Peanut Tillman and mentions their veteran leadership.

Finish your drink if…

  • Roger Goodell is booed during the trophy presentation.
  • Lady Gaga forgets a word during the national anthem.
  • Jay-Z makes a surprise appearance at Halftime
  • CBS acknowledges the Racial undertone to Cam Newton’s Popularity/Dislike

If you’re really looking to get buzzed fast (which we don’t recommend) Take a sip anytime you hear “Omaha”

Enjoy and as always remember to drink responsibly…

Cheers

Oscarsdrinkinggame

The 85th Annual Academy Awards are tonight, and no largely televised event is complete without it’s own drinking game. Our Unofficial 2013 Grammy’s drinking game was a hit early this year, as well as last fall’s 2012 Presidential Debate drinking game, so we thought it would only be right if we continued the trend with the Unofficial 2013 Oscars drinking game. Seth McFarlane is set to host, and to be honest you could build an entire game around his monologue alone. So let’s sit back, watch the show, and engage in some good old fashioned tomfoolery.

Red Carpet Pregame (Take a Sip when…)

  • Anytime the question “What/Who are you wearing” comes up.
  • Anytime the camera pans to a “Hollywood couple” (Pitt/Jolie, Garner/Affleck etc).
  • Anytime an interview gets bum-rushed by another celebrity and/or spectator.
  • Anytime someone shows up nearly naked in their outfit
  • Anytime someone shows up with their mom/dad as their date.

Actual Awards Show (Take a drink when…)

  • Anytime  time a Winner mentions they did not prepare a speech.
  • Anytime a Winner is rushed off stage by Orchestra music playing.
  • Anytime Seth McFarlane uses the “Stewie” voice.
  • Anytime Seth Mcfarlane uses ANY of his Family guy voices
  • Anytime someone mentions their mother/father in their acceptance speech
  • Anytime someone brings up politics in their speech (Guns/war/Obama/etc)
  • Anytime someone botches/misreads their lines at the podium
  • Anytime someone trips going up to the podium
  • Anytime someone exits the stage in the wrong direction

Well, we hope this doesn’t leave any of you immobile! Enjoy this years academy awards and remember among  all the uptight, stiff, and seriousness of the Academy Awards are plenty of reasons to have some fun with friends. Super Bowl 50

Super Bowl 50 Cocktails

Chances are if you’re not a Panthers or Broncos fan or hell even a football fan at all, you’ve still got plans to watch the big game this Sunday. I’ll be honest I haven’t figured out what we’re drinking yet so don’t worry if you haven’t either. I know there will be plenty of bourbon though and probably a few cases of beer and cider for the light drinkers we’ll have over, but nothing set in stone yet. This isn’t new to me, every year the big game comes around and I procrastinate, and change my mind back and forth, and then just end up with a whiskey and ginger ale in my hand. If this was Christmas, or Thanksgiving, or even the 4th of July I’ve got it covered, but not this one always gets me

So I did what any guy would do in my situation, I got on google. I surfed the web to see what other people suggest and figured I’d give some of them (or all of them) a try. If you’re like me and you’re still undecided on what to drink this weekend, here’s a nice little round up of Super Bowl cocktails from around the web.

Happy Humpday! It’s only midway through the week, but if you’re looking for an excuse to drink, we’ve got a good one. April 19th is National Amaretto day, so we’ve got a couple of simple and delicious cocktails to help you celebrate. For those of us unfamiliar with the spirit, amaretto is a sweet, almond-flavored, Italian liqueur associated with Saronno, Italy. It’s used in a variety of ways in the kitchen and behind the bar. The Mrs. loves to add it to cake batter, frosting, and cookie dough. Behind the bar, it can be drunk by itself or added to a variety of mixes to make various cocktails. There are several brands on the market, but if you ask anyone to name a brand, they’ll almost certainly call out DISARONNO, the leader in the category, and also the source of the cocktails we’ll be sharing today.

Also, if you happen to be in Miami, Chicago, or San Francisco tomorrow, Disaronno will be out celebrating the holiday with bar tours in each city starting at 5 pm. Guests will experience specially crafted cocktails made with DISARONNO  such as the famed DISARONNO Sour, the DISARONNO Sparkling Sour, The Godfather, and The Lunch Box. All you have to do to participate is visit one of these locations:

  • Chicago:
    • Starting off at Money Gun at 5pm, DISARONNO Day enthusiasts will be transported via the DISARONNO Trolley to, Dolce, Godfrey Hotel Rooftop, Howl at The Moon, Flo & Santo, and Red Head Piano Bar
  • Miami:
    • Starting off at The Social Club at 5pm, DISARONNO Day enthusiasts can also visit as part of the official tour, The Regent Social Club, Lucali and Macchialina
  • San Francisco:
    • Starting off at Dirty Habit at 5pm, DISARONNO Day enthusiasts can also visit as part of the official tour, 54 Mint, Elixir, Blackthorn and Nihon Whiskey Lounge
  • Phoenix:
    • Starting off at Bourbon & Bones at 5pm, DISARONNO Day enthusiasts will be transported via the DISARONNO bus where participants can win prizes while trivia is played between stops at, Fat Ox, House Brasserie, Social Tap, The Rack, BS West, 2nd Story, The Gypsy, Lucky Strike, and Willie’s Taco Shop
  • Del Ray:
    • Starting off at City Oyster at 5pm, DISARONNO Day enthusiasts can also visit as part of the official tour, Caffé Martier, Salt, 32 East, Rock Burger, Luigi’s, and Tramonti

But if going out isn’t your thing, you can get the party started at home with the sour cocktails recipes below. If you’ve never had one, the Amaretto Sour is one of my favorite entry-level cocktails to make for someone looking to get their social drinking game started. And once you’ve graduated from that and want a slightly bigger kick, the Bourbon Sour is an awesome next step. Try them both and tell me what you think!

Cheers,

Alex
