A Caribbean Cocktail You Should Be Drinking…

This Caribbean Cocktail will put your mind right where you need it to be!

This week we’re on vacation “mentally” so we’re sitting on the porch sipping through a few different cocktail recipes we’ve been wanting to try for a while. Caribbean Mistress has vacation vibes written all over it, a Caribbean cocktail inspired by the ocean breeze full of familiar flavors like coconut rum, Grand Marnier, and orange juice, and a wildcard that we loved, Lychee liqueur.

The Caribbean Mistress is courtesy of the Rad Cocktails cocktail book we recently reviewed, so make sure to check it out if you haven’t already.  It’s an original cocktail by the books author, Amanda, and it’s just what you need to forget you still haven’t traveled anywhere significant in 13 months.  Surprisingly, I’ve only ever had Lychee fruit once in my life, and I couldn’t for the life of me remember what it tasted like. This recipe calls for Lychee liqueur which is pretty overpowering both in aroma and in its sweet taste but when combined with the other ingredients it makes a drink perfect for any beach, pool, or vacation vibe.  Check out the recipe below and give it a try this week!

Caribbean Mistress [ by Amanda Greenbaum]

  • 2 oz Coconut Rum
  • 1 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1 oz Lychee Liqueur
  • 1 oz Sweetened Lime Juice
  • 4 oz. Oranges Juice.
  • [Optional] Banana leaf, lime garnish.

Pour all ingredients together into a highball or bucket glass over ice. Enjoy

Cheers,

Alex
