A Caribbean Thanksgiving: The Cruzan Maple Leaf

Cruzan_Maple-LeafThanksgiving is about a week away, and we’re starting the party early with a drink featuring one of our favorite island rums, Cruzan rum. Many moons ago when I was still a clerk behind the counter, I was introduced to this tasty little Caribbean rum from the island of St. Croix, and we’ve been good friends ever since Since then they’ve come out with a lot of flavors, like all the other brands, but their classic dark rum, white rum, and 151, and Diamond estate rums are some of the best. This recipe featured the Diamond dark rum, and also includes several other ingredients that put the taste of Autumn in your mouth. Give it a try this Thanksgiving and let us know what you think.

  • 2 parts Cruzan® Estate Diamond® Dark Rum
  • 1/2 part Maple Syrup (4 parts dark syrup; 1 part water)
  • 4 dashes Angostura® Bitters
  • 2 dashes Bittermens® Apple Bitters

Stir ingredients over ice and pour in an old fashioned glass over a large ice cube. Scrape fresh cinnamon on top as garnish.
