It’s older, it’s busier, but it’s got a lot of unique shops, places with character, and great food & dessert options. One place we’ve been hearing a lot about was a bakery called Blue Bird Bake Shop in the Audubon Park. I’ll tell you right now, walking through that door, being hit with whiffs of fresh cupcakes, cookies, and scones…. it was dangerous. Keep in mind Lori and I have BOTH been trying to eat better. So we shared a Strawberry cupcake that was so tasty and moist, and a snicker-doodle that was so sweet that it was a struggle to leave without ordering something to-go, but we managed to contain ourselves and then we saw them…. Alcohol infused marshmallows. How could I resist? A few questions at the shop and we found out they were made locally and sold at retail in various local shops like this one.

Wondermade handcrafted Marshmallows is a unique brand that started out as a gift when owner, Nathan, was struggling to think of a great gift idea for Christmas. He heard about an interview on the radio about candy, and gained interest in making it himself. A little internet research, and a few needed purchases and he was ready to create his new concept of flavored marshmallows. When you create something so good that people request orders on, thats when you know you’ve got something, and that was the case with Wondermade.

Now alcohol flavors aren’t all they deal in, just what we like the most. We purchased the bourbon marshmallows made with Makers Mark (our favorite) and weren’t disappointed. A quick stumble over to their website and we noticed they also make champagne marshmallows, and for St. Patty’s day coming soon they offer both Guinness Marshmallows and Irish Cream Marshmallows.

If you’re interested in ordering one of their awesome alcohol infused marshmallow flavors, or would like to check out their other flavors, visit their website at www.Wondermade.com. Prices range from around $8 up to $24 for specialty flavors and sets. Drink Local!

Cheers
