Candy Cane Cooler

…..This weeks cocktail of the week is all about getting in the spirit. Christmas is only a few weeks away, and as we’ve mentioned before we’re very seasonal in our drinking so this time of year we’re all about the pumpkin, the cranberry, the minty, the chocolate, and many other flavors that remind us of the fall and holiday season. This weeks recipe is actually an adaptation of a recipe I tried and wasn’t to happy with. It originally featured an overly strong peppermint flavor, something my palate couldn’t handle. Trust me, I love peppermint, but it was overwhelming. Try my version of this one out and see if you like it.

Candy Cane Cooler ( Recipe adapted from The Food Network)

  • 1 oz. Premium Vodka
  • 1/z oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz. B&B (Benedictine and brandy)
  • 1/2 oz. half-and-half
  • Peppermint stick
  • Mint sprig for garnish
  • Ice

Add vodka, brandy and half-and-half into a shaker with ice. Shake lightly to chill and strain into old-fashioned glass full of ice. Add a peppermint stick and stir. Garnish with a mint sprig.
