We’re still playing catching up at Intoxicology, an addition to the family made for a very slow April and May. With World Whisk(e)y day around the corner we thought it would be worth noting that a couple of brands we work with were highlighted at the Whisky Magazine Awards.

Laphroaig’s Simon Brooking was officially named “Scotch Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year” at the 2016 Icons Of Whisky awards. “A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, Simon is a renowned expert on Scotch whisky, having learned the art and science of distilling from the world’s foremost master distillers and blenders. For nearly two decades, Simon has helped drive awareness and trial of Laphroaig through education and engagement at on and off-premise accounts and events.”
In case you missed it, we recently wrote about the launch of Laphroaig Lore, a new expression recently launched stateside and we can’t wait to try it.

Additionally, Knob Creek Smoked Maple Bourbon was named “The World’s Best Flavoured” by the World Whiskies Awards 2016. The judges described Knob Creek Smoked Maple Bourbon as having a “butterscotch nose with sweet honey notes,” and “sweet liqueur flower on the nose.” As the first flavored expression from Knob Creek, this bourbon honors the spirit of experimentation and passion for big, full flavor on which the brand was founded. With a full-bodied taste and a smoky, smooth and slightly sweet finish, Knob Creek Smoked Maple stays true to its roots while bringing through an innovative flavor that can’t be found anywhere else.
