World Gin Day Is Saturday June 13th

This Saturday is world gin day. No, we didn’t make this up but I wish I did. World Gin Day started out like any other holiday with a man and a dream, sort of… Neil Houston of YetAnotherGin actually started it in 2009 as just a way to bring his friends together to enjoy a good gin cocktail and now it’s turned into a full-blown global celebration. Hat’s off to Neil, Gin is my favorite spirit, and if I had been smart enough I’d have thought of this years ago.

If you’re looking to celebrate it’s pretty simple. Grab a bunch of friends, and a few bottles of gin, a few mixers and citrus fruits and have fun. Gin Milkshake

Bloodhound Shake
By Allison Kave, Butter & Scotch, Brooklyn, NYC

1 ounce Caorunn Gin
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 scoop strawberry ice cream

Combine all ingredients in a blender until blended.  Pour into a parfait or pint glass. Top with whipped cream and a slice of fresh strawberry.
