New Years Eve Cocktails

…..The big night is almost here. Still scrambling to decide on what you’re toasting? I’ve always been a personal fan of Piper-Heidsieck, Veuve Clicquot, and Mumm. All of these work great alone AND are still reasonably cheap enough to justify throwing in some “added flavor”. Below are a few of my favorite champagne cocktails to toast with on NYE, or any celebratory occasion. Each of these are simple (4 ingredients or less), tasty, and fun to look at.

Lemon-Cherry Fizz

  • 1 Tablespoon of Cherry Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice
  • 1 Sugar Cube
  • Champagne

This one is DELICIOUS. Put on sugar cube in the bottom of your champagne flute and then add in Cherry juice and Lemon juice. Fill the glass with champagne.

Blue Velvet

  • 4 oz Champagne
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao
  • Splash of Cointreau/Grand Marnier

Start by placing just a splash o Cointreau or Grand Marnier at the bottom of your flute. Fill you flute with champagne and then slowly top off with Blue Curac. Tasty, and fun to look at.

Green Dragon

  • 4 oz Champagne
  • 1 oz Midori Melon Liquor
  • Splash of Simple Syrup

Similar to the Blue Velvet this is simple, tasty and pretty on the eyes. Start with a splash of simple syrup then fill with champagne and top off with midori.

…..Hope you end your 2011 and start your 2012 with a bang. For more delicious recipes check out our previous Champagne cocktails recipes. Still have some Champagne leftover after NYE? Don’t forget about Morning After Mimosas !
