Breakfast fans are in for a real treat. Pernod Ricard, the premium spirits and wine company, have added a new lineup of breakfast inspired liqueurs to their portfolio called “Mama Walkers”. They’ll be hitting the shelves this spring and include flavors like Maple Bacon, Blueberry Pancake, and Glazed Donut. Mmmm, anyone else hungry? They were created to bring on the nostalgia of a homemade breakfast and if the names are a prelude to their taste, I think we’ll all be left satisfied.

“Mama Walker’s delights with home-style, made-from scratch goodness in flavors consumers want,” said Juli Falkoff, Brand Director for Mama Walker’s, Pernod Ricard USA. “Breakfast isn’t just for breakfast anymore. Consumers are more and more adventurous, seeking flavors across a variety of categories,” Falkoff added. “Comfort food, sweet & savory flavor combinations and retro-inspired flavors are among three of the hottest trends today. Mama Walker’s taps into all three of these current trends with retro-inspired 70 proof liqueurs that are great anytime – at brunch, happy hour, or an evening out – straight up or in cocktails.”

Mama Walker’s tasting notes include:

  • Mama Walker’s™ Maple Bacon – somewhat woodsy with a faintly burnt smokiness on the nose followed by a textured body that’s slightly crispy and smoky. The finish pairs savory flavor with understated maple sweetness.
  • Mama Walker’s™ Blueberry Pancakes – fresh on the nose with an instant and inviting aroma of blueberry. The subtle sweetness on the palate is followed by lingering hints of maple syrup and butter pancake that mellow towards the end.
  • Mama Walker’s™ Glazed Donut – offers the warm aroma of fresh-from-the-oven glazed donuts. For the nose, a nice bit of vanilla. For the palate, a sweet bread sensation and a finish that leaves a lingering trace of subtle sweetness.

Mama Walkers liqueurs will retail around 12.99/750 ML and are the standard 70 Proof. Packaging is unique in that it comes in a retro inspired bottle that will compliment its taste and nostalgic inspiration. Look for it to hit shelves in March and also keep your eyes open for sampling happening at bars and stores near you. 1 part Jameson

Add ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled shot glass and serve.

 

Mama’s Blueberry Pancakes

¾ part Mama Walker’s Blueberry Pancake

¾ part Hiram Walker Butterscotch Schnapps

Add ingredients to shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled shot glass and serve.

 

Mama’s Coffee & Donuts

2 parts Mama Walker’s Glazed Donut

½ part Kahlua

Add ingredients to shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled shot glass and serve.
