Texas and Florida Order Bars Closed Due to Covid Surge

Unless you’ve been living under  rock or maybe in an Amish community the last six months, you know the recent pandemic has hurt businesses tremendously. Maybe no industry has been crushed harder than the bar and restaurant industries with shutdowns all over the country back in March, April and May. A beacon of light hit the bar industry when many states began lifting these bans in late May and June but unfortunately in several states it’s gotten worse, much worse.

Florida just this week hit a new record of 9,000+ cases in one day, Texas is seeing an infection rate of nearly 12% of it’s population. So this past week both Florida and Texas announced that all bars within the state either close or not sell alcohol on premise (which is essentially asking them to close). Restaurants will be able to operate but without selling alcohol as well.

We can only control the things we can control, so for the social drinkers out there, this is the perfect time to practice DIY cocktails at home to keep yourselves “wet” while the bars go dry. If you haven’t already checked them out, we’ve got some simple how-to cocktails that are worth making at home and who know’s, you may start experimenting and stumble on something you didn’t even know you loved. Check out a few options we have below:

How to Make Home Made Sour Mix

How To Make Home Made Grenadine Syrup

How To Make a Martini

How To Make A Negroni

How To Make a Caipirinha

These should get you started, and if not don’t worry, we’ll keep the recipes coming. Good luck and remember, a good bartender knows when to cut his customers off, at home, you’re your own bartender so drink responsibly!

Cheers!
