May The 4th Be With You: Star Wars Cocktails

It’s that time of year again, May is here. That means a few things; annoying Justin Timberlake meme’s, the Derby and Cinco De Mayo, and of course May the 4th, an unofficial official Star Wars Holiday. We choose to celebrate them all, more reasons to drink right?  So today we’re sharing a few star wars cocktails in case you wanted to join in on the fun. We’ve highlighted a few fun recipes for those on the Dark side OR Light side. Choose wisely…

THE DARK SIDE

  • 1/2 oz. Dark Creme De Cacao
  • 1/2 oz. Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur
  • 3/4 oz. The Perfect Purée Banana Puree, thawed
  • 3 oz. coffee

Add all ingredients into a coffee cup. Garnish with whipped cream, yellow sprinkles and a banana chip.

  • 1 1/2 oz. Bourbon
  • 1/2 oz. The Perfect Purée Cherry Puree, thawed
  • 1/3 oz. The Perfect Purée Chipotle Sour blend, thawed
  • Soda water

Add Cherry and Chipotle to a rocks glass and stir. Add Bourbon and Ice, top with soda water and stir. Garnish with a Luxardo Cherry pierced with a red lightsaber.

  • 2 oz. Gold Rum
  • 1/2 oz. The Perfect Purée Thai Basil & Black Pepper blend, thawed
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 1 oz. lime juice

Add all ingredients with ice to shaker. Shake, and fine strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime and cherry “TIE fighter”.

THE LIGHT SIDE

Jedi Mind Trick [Jesse Hawkins (IG: @themocktailproject) / Founder, The Mocktail Project]

  •  2 oz. The Perfect Purée Kiwi Puree, thawed
  • 4 oz. Gruvi Nosecco
  • 1/2 oz. local honey
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 2 blackberries

Add all ingredients into your shaker with a small amount of ice. Shake well and strain over fresh ice. Garnish drink with fresh kiwi, mint leaves and two blackberries on a stick.

Windu’s Wielder [Jesse Hawkins (IG: @themocktailproject) / Founder, The Mocktail Project]

  •  2 oz. The Perfect Puree Blackberry Puree, thawed
  • 1 1/2 cups long white rice (2 cups of water)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Method for the Horchata: Soak all ingredients except Blackberry Puree in a pot for more than 8 hours.

Method for the Drink: Combine 12 oz. of horchata to every 2 oz. of Blackberry Puree into a blender. Blend with fresh ice.

 Kenobi’s Search [ Jesse Hawkins (IG: @themocktailproject) / Founder, The Mocktail Project]

  •  4 oz. The Perfect Purée Red Jalapeño Puree, thawed
  • 8 oz. fresh pineapple juice
  • 10-12 large chunks of watermelon
  • 12 mint leaves

Add all ingredients into blender with plenty of ice. Blend to margarita texture. For garnish, slice the outer layer of a fresh pineapple into small triangles. Place them along rim of glass with the pineapple spears pointing outward.
