The Worst States for Alcohol Taxes

Did you know that the taxes on spirits are significantly higher than the taxes on beer and wine? What’s up with that? Due to the alcohol content, spirits tend to be taxed more, and for some states its a whopping five times the amount of its alcohol counterparts. Washington as you can see below is the most heavily taxed at $31.48 per gallon, YIKES! Meanwhile the lowest state tax goes to Wyoming and New Hampshire who use a state run system that offers low pricing and almost no tax. Where does your state fall?
