February 27th is National Kahlua Day, so to celebrate I thought I’d share a few good recipes to try at home. By now I’m sure most are familiar with some Kahlua classics such as the White Russian, but below are some fun and tasty recipes that are a bit more complicated but well worth it. Enjoy.

Coffee Creamer (Intoxicology original)

  • 1 1/2 oz Kahlua
  • 1 1/2 oz Baileys Irish Cream
  • 2 oz Cream de Cacao
  • 1 oz Stoli Vanilla Vodka
  • Splash 2% milk

A favorite of mine to make for large groups. Tasty with just the right amount of alcohol to keep you on your toes. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, shake, and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.

Gorillas in the Mist (Popular Planet Hollywood Cocktail)

  • ¾ oz. Coconut Rum
  • ¾ oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • ¾ oz. Kahlua
  • ¾ oz. Banana Liqueur
  • 1 ½ oz. Ice Cream
  • ½ Ripe Banana

Place ingredients in blender and blend until creamy.
Pour the mix into a cocktail glass. Garnish the cocktail drink with whipped cream, dried banana chips and chocolate syrup.

Kahlua Float

  • 1 1/2 oz Kahlua
  • 3/4 oz vanilla vodka
  • splash of orange juice
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • Root beer ( Or substitute with Coke)
Add Kahlua, vodka, and orange juice in a cocktail shaker with ice, strain into an ice-filled highball glass or soda glass, add the ice cream, and top with your soda of choice.
