Last summer during our trip to Tales, I think both Lori and I would agree, our favorite new brand we tried was a spirit named Cedilla. If it’s eye catching bottle doesn’t get you, the taste would. It’s an Acai berry based liqueur thats both rich and flavorful. It only further made up our minds when we found out it was made from the same company that brought us Leblon, aka Lori’s favorite Cachaca. So needless to say we made more than a few trips to the Leblon Cachaca Food Drink Truck where they were serving cold Leblon and Cedilla cocktails. On ice, or in a cocktail, its the perfect summer weather liqueur, and with the heat returning (for us in the South anyway), it’s a great time to try this simple caipirinha recipe.
The Açai Caipirinha
2 oz Leblon Cachaça
1 oz Cedilla
½ oz simple syrup
6 lime wedges
In mixing glass, muddle the limes and simple syrup. Add Cedilla and Leblon Cachaça. Fill with ice, shake well and pour all into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Cheers!
