Sex and Cocktails: 50 Shades of Grey Inspired Cocktails

February 13th is the national release of the 50 Shades of Grey movie. If you haven’t heard of it chances are you’re a man and even then its pretty ridiculous you haven’t . But chances are your wife/girlfriend/mother/sister has. The 2011 best-selling novel became the fastest selling series in years with over 31 million copies sold world-wide in a short span of time. It’s no coincidence its release is the day before Valentines day. It’s kinky, it’s naughty, it’s romantic, and it’s passionate. Bottom line is women everywhere are obsessed with it. Sex and alcohol go together like PB&J, so you can imagine next weekend will be producing a lot of “offspring”. To help you “get your freak on” reps from Sauza were kind enough to send us 5 cocktails inspired by 50 Shades of Grey so enjoy. Drink responsibly and don’t try anything you know you’ll regret in the morning (not talking about the drinks there!). Enjoy

Spicy Passion

2 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1 part Cruzan® Passion Fruit Rum
2 parts fresh orange juice
Juice of ½ lime
1-3 dashes Tabasco® Sauce
Lemon wheel (for garnish)
Raspberries (for garnish)

Preparation: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel and berries.

The Elevator Ride

2 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1 part DeKuyper® Pomegranate Schnapps Liqueur
2 parts grapefruit juice
1 part club soda
1 lemon wheel (for garnish)

Preparation: Build over ice in a glass in this order: pour tequila, grapefruit juice and club soda and stir to combine. Now pour the pomegranate liqueur over the top (it will work its way down). Garnish with a lemon wheel.
