The big game is tomorrow. For the first time in Division I football a true champion will be crowned using the method most of us consider the only true way to determine a winner with College Footballs first playoff system. Whether you’re a Buckeye fan or a Duck chances are you’ll be glued to the tv tomorrow watching with friends or family and maybe even having a drink or two. Our college football cocktails we created and shared way back when are STILL some of our most visited pages so we figured we would do it again for tomorrows championship game. If you’re a fan of either team chances are your house is already decked out with gear and signs but let’s take it a step further. Here are 4 team inspired cocktail perfect for sipping on during the game. Enjoy
The Bourbon Meyer
- 1 Part Bourbon
- 3 Parts Sweet Tea
- 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
- Lemon Wheel
Pour all your ingredients in chilled rocks glass and stir. Float the lemon wheel on top.
The Buckeye Blitz [Red in color]
- 1 1/2 oz Red Stag Cherry Bourbon
- 1 oz Grenadine
- 3 oz Lemonade (or to taste)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker, shake and strain. Garnish with a cherry.
Duck Dynasty [Beer Cocktail]
- 1 oz Gin
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- 3 oz Widmer Hefeweizen (Oregon Craft Beer)
- 1 oz Honey Syrup (equal parts honey and water)
Add your ingredients except beer together in a shaker, shake and strain into a chilled rocks glass or champagne glass if you’re feeling fancy. Top with your Widmer beer. Garnish with a lemon peel (optional)
Oregon Duck Punch [Green Color]
- 4 1/2 oz. White Tequila
- 3 oz. Midori Melon Liqueur
- 3 oz. Sour Apple
- 4 oz. Sweet Sour
- 4 oz. Lemon Lime Soda
- 1 oz. Blue Curacao
- Garnish: 2 Limes and 1 cherry
Combine all your ingredients in a large punch bowl and stir. For smaller portions just cut down the measurements equally.
