Hosting a party at home can be a wonderful way to bring together all of your closest friends and family members under one roof. Whether you’re looking to get people together for a housewarming, engagement announcement, birthday, or simply for some weekend entertainment, you definitely want to give yourself time to think about refreshments. While planning, you may want to consider having a few signature cocktails at your party. As long as you have a bottle of Absolut Vodka and a few other ingredients, you can whip up a number of fantastic vodka drinks for your event.
Moscow Mule
Ever visit a restaurant or bar and notice a patron drinking out of a copper mug? It was most likely a Moscow Mule. This vodka-based drink has been around since at least the 1940s, but it has seen a surge of popularity in recent years. With a refreshing taste and straightforward recipe, this is a great option for any event.
Mix together about 50ml of vodka with some ice and a bit of ginger beer. Add the bitters, slice of lime, and mint to the drink for garnish and color. If possible, serve the drink in a metal mug or tin to give guests a bit of an authentic feel with the beverage.
Gimlet
You may also be interested in finding a gimlet recipe for your party. Traditionally, a gimlet is made with gin and can be mixed with a number of herbs and bitters to create a wildly delicious drink. If you don’t have gin, it is still entirely possible to concoct a gimlet with Absolut Vodka! All you need to do is mix 60ml of vodka with a bit of lime juice, some simple syrup, and a lot of ice. The key to a perfect gimlet is temperature. As long as the drink is served cold, it is sure to refresh.
Cosmo
The beauty of alcohol is that there seems to be a signature drink for almost every situation. If you are getting together with a handful of your closest girlfriends after time apart, then a Cosmo may be the perfect drink for the evening. Often associated with sophistication and modern urban living, a Cosmopolitan can be created by mixing together 50ml of vodka with about 1 tablespoon of orange liqueur, 50ml of cranberry juice, and a teaspoon of lime juice. Mix the drink by hand with ice and garnish with a slice of orange zest for a colorful finish.
Bloody Mary
Some gatherings happen a bit earlier in the day than others. If you’re hosting brunch at your place, a Bloody Mary is a classic vodka drink that dates back to the roaring 1920s. To make this drink, mix together 125ml of tomato juice with 50ml of vodka in a shaker with ice. Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, a bit of sweet sherry, a ½ teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt, black pepper, celery salt, and fennel seeds. Shake vigorously, strain, and serve the savory drinks with a stick of celery and a lemon wedge.
Making drinks for a party can be fun and challenging. As long as you have a bottle of Absolut in your possession, you’ll be ready to tackle whatever exciting cocktail recipes you discover.
Cheers,
