Jim Beam Kentucky Dram is what I like to call a Frankenstein liquor. It’s when brands try to get “creative” and combine more than one spirit to create something new and exciting. Plenty of lesser known brands have tried it, usually with little success but so have several of the big brands. Malibu Red was a combination of tequila and rum. Grey Goose recently launched Grey Goose VX, a vodka made like a cognac creating an interesting love child.
Now Jim Beam is next in line with the release of Jim Beam Kentucky Dram, a premium bourbon infused with highland Scotch whisky.

Makes you want rush out and grab one right? Not so fast, Kentucky Dram will be both a limited edition release AND available exclusively in global travel retail outlets starting in July. I know, bummer. It’ll probably end up on ebay with a jacked up price tag.
Tasting Notes: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey expertly blended with a touch of peaty Highland Scotch, resulting in the time-honoured taste of Jim Beam with a hint of something new. At 40% ABV, the smokey flavour of the Scotch enriches the smooth vanilla and oaky notes of the bourbon. It is recommended to be served neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail, such as a Dram Manhattan.
