The Pink Ribbon Cocktail

………Can you believe we’re already half way through October? In case you’ve missed it, men and women nationwide are honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month by “Thinking Pink” and we’re been getting in on the fun too with several pink cocktails. If you enjoyed our “Cape Codders Revenge ccoktail”, we think you’ll LOVE this one.  This weeks cocktail is the Pink Pigeon, featuring Pink Pigeon rum, and was created by Kate Grutman from The Spare Room at the Roosevelt Hotel in Holllywood, CA. They describe it as “an invigorating rose-tinted Pink Pigeon Rum champagne cocktail, perfect for invoking breast cancer support and solidarity”. Sounds like fun right? Enough chatting, lets get to supporting those ta-ta’s.

The Pink Ribbon (Kate Grutman, The Spare Room|Roosevelt Hotel Hollywood

  • 2 oz. Pink Pigeon Rum
  • 2 dashes of Fee Brothers black walnut bitters
  • .5 oz Luxardo Morlacco Cherry Liqueur
  • .5 oz Luxardo Fernet
  • 1 Luxardo Maraschino Cherry and lemon spiral to garnish
In a mixing glass, add first three ingredients over ice. In a separate coupe glass, add Luxardo Fernet and swirl in glass until it is fully coated with the Fernet. Strain chilled cocktail from mixing glass into Fernet-rinsed coupe (discard excess Fernet). Drop Luxardo maraschino cherry into glass and serve neat.
